Introduction

Part of life is accepting that sometimes relationships don't last forever. Through the process of time and support from family and friends, we learn to heal and adjust to being newly single.  In time you find yourself desiring companionship and dabble into the idea of falling in love again.

So now the question becomes, where do I start? What will my ideal relationship look like? Is on-line dating for me? What to say? How to say it? Well I think you get the picture.

It is without a reservation that the evolution of dating rituals has a whole new face.  My father would always share stories over the dinner table as to how he would romance my mother with these elaborate elegant dinners then dancing.  Now it’s all about the “quick meets”.  Thanks to Starbucks and their conveniently every corner locations, setting up a date over coffee has become the most effective way of screening the chemistry meter.  But the one thing that remains the same is our expectations.

We date to find that perfect companion.  As dating has evolved from that formal planned event to the quick text casual encounter, individuals criteria for selecting our partners have vaguely expanded. Marriage is optional, as is children. Long-term relationship can be defined as 6 month to 1 year.

Adjusting to all these changes can be overwhelming, but what makes it all worth it is being in love with the right partner.

Share your stories of how you see the evolution of dating change throughout the years and what you would like to see preserved.
